I have never heard of Lis Weil until I saw people talking about part one of her East Salem trilogy Waking Hours. I hadn’t read a single bad remark and I was told that booksneeze was allowing people to read the kindle version so I had to get it and I don’t regret it.
Many people will find it creepy from the beginning as an elderly women attacks Tommy with superhuman strength as she is rambling off Latin and during that time, he finds out a short time later, a murder was committed. This was only the beginning as he dives strait into a battle of good versus evil in a very intriguing way. Luckily, he didn’t face it alone as God provided Dani, a girl he went to school with, who was trying to solve this mystery so they built an alliance.
This book has everything from mystery, suspense, supernatural elements as the war between God and Satan rage on, dragging these souls into it, romance and even humor with such grotesque circumstances. The story was played out in a page turning fashion and one cannot put it down once they begin. The elements she through in also teaches you aspects and lessons that we need in everyday life and that is the most important thing I like to see in a book so this aspect was fulfilled making it a book I have to recommend to others.

Charlie West woke up one day tie to a chair in a torture chamber, no recollection of where he was at, no memories of his past year with people standing outside the door. This may seem terrible, but it got worse as this group, called the Highlanders, wanted him dead and the cops wanted him arrested for they believe he killed his best friend. He couldn’t understand any of this until he met Mr. Waterman who supposedly knew all the answers, but did Charlie make it in time? As his memory returns through out the piece, explanations are forced upon us and intensity grows. Definitely as Charlie somehow figures out where the Highlanders plan to strike next. Can he stop them? Is it too much for him to take on his own or…is he alone for he stands by the saying “You are never alone”? He doesn’t have much time and many lives are at stake.

The Final hour is a great completion to an amazing four book series by Adnrew Klavin. All the Highland books were nothing but fast past novels that only kept you wanting more as questions arose with every page turned, yet many more questions arise with the answers given. This book was not an exception as we followed the conclusion of Charlie Wests story as he searched for answers and release of his “forced life” in “The Final Hour.” I believe this book, along with the whole series, is a great read for many children. It is filled with many moral, spiritual and just character building elements that should be mimicked by all. Honestly, the whole series took me a little bit to get into just for the fact its in first person, but Klavin doesn’t allow that unique style from taking over your understanding of entertainment.

The Long Way Home review

How do you know if you are good or bad? Who can you trust? These are two questions that ran through Charlie’s mind as he tries to figure out what is going on. The Long Way Home begins with Charlie looking for answers to Alex’s death and quickly changes to him, once more, running for his life. The police and the highlanders still after him even though he still has no memories of what happened. Through this story he meets people who try to help him find out who killed his friend and how to clear his name. But is anyone as they seem? Is Charlie the bad guy like he starts to believe? As he finds some answers, more questions arise and he realizes that the problems are rising quickly also. He has to figure this out without being killed or putting his friends in danger. Honestly, I didn’t find the writing style to intriguing and came off to me more of a list at points…but that might be his style and no disrespect. Within the story it gives many examples of great friendship and had many ideas that gets you thinking. If you like mystery with some suspense, I would recommend this. It isn’t one of the best books I have read, nor it is definitely not the worst. I enjoyed it once I got used to the writing style and will get the next one. This is something for kids. If you are looking for high suspense or something that isn’t predictable and makes your mind wonder all over, I am sorry I wouldn’t recommend this. Still, pretty interesting read and it did keep my attention. Thank you Andrew Klavan and no disrespect man, just my opinion and don’t take it offensively I do believe God is working.

Faces In the Fire review

A number that means nothing, yet truly means everything. As you read Faces In the Fire by T.L. Hines, you will see the importance the number is. It is different to each of the four people, yet it becomes the same as it brings them all together in amazing, but strange ways. Actually, everything about this book is strange from the chapters that aren’t in numerical order and how he connects each of those lives. Don’t let any of that intimidate you, especially the chapters not in order. The first time I flipped through the book, I got scared because I wasn’t sure how to read it. I am glad I had though (by the way, you read it like a regular boo) and the disorganization, at least what appears to be disorganization at first glance, makes it an interesting read and is clearly connected. I found this story extremely weird, but the weird fascinates me so I really enjoyed this story, or stories depending on the way you read it. It also got me thinking on the ripples effect. The choices we make will effect many people in ways you can’t imagine. The story gives hope for those who are in the flames now. There is a way out, there is redemption! I would recommend you to read this, definitely if you are like me and long for the supernatural with clear morals, hope and themes of redemption. It does take time to get used to Hine’s style, but it makes for a unique read. I am looking forward to reading more of his material. For now, I am looking for the meaning of 1595544534 in my life.

GREEN REVIEW~!!!

“The begining and the end” is what Green is described. Finishing it today, i stand in awe. WOW!! I have been a fan of his after reading House, and have been reading his books since. he is my favorite author, and this book doesn’t dissappoint.
1. I am not like a normal Dekkie, for i havn’t read The Circle series besides black, which was some time ago. So i decided to read this as a starter, which i am proud I had. I don’t think i would like reading it as a finally, but i havn’t read the rest to read it as a circle, which is part of the fun.
Two realities, different yet are intwined. In our reality, it has been many, many years. Everything has calmed, until a boy came in looking for Thomas’ blood. How does he know? what does he need it for? He, with the help of an intrigueing female, are after what they know is real, making issues for our reality and the other.
While this is happening, the other reality is in turmoil. The Circle is falling, and tension is brewing between the three seperate groups. War in ineddible. Thomas’ son, is in a struggle with his belief, as are most of them. Has Elyon left them? This question goes through there minds, as their faith is tested.
A great fast paced story, that keeps your intention through out every page. It is filled with love, betrail and much imagery and symbolism that you can’t help but connect to life in our reality, for it is the same at these. The story tells about the apoclypse with the spread of darkness, yet Elyon has not and will not leave us, like many believe. It is A story of faith being tested, and proof being shown.
I don’t want to give much of the plot away. I really recomend reading it, it will make you think on your faith. I know some say it shouldn’t be read untill you read the books of history and the paradise novels because they play a huge part. I havn’t read either of them, yes i can see where they fall in, but it doesn’t take anything away from the fantastic story. I will, can’t wait, read the rest of them and i am proud to start on this book.
Another fascinating aspect of the story, is all the forshadowing done in it. Lol, it may be because i am a true dekkie, and look for connections to all his books, and even future books. This story gives clues to future books, i believe. Maybe I.V.?! Sorry ted if i spoiled it! Anyway, i recomend this book to everyone! It is a must read, along with all his other outstanding books!

Next Generation New testament review

I had ordered this out of curiosity. I am one that like to listen to stuff more then reading, at least with nonfiction items, no matter how important. To me, this wasn’t listening. I could close my eyes and pretend like i was in the story. Yes, it is for younger kids i believe, but i still recomend it. It is isn’t just random people reading the scripture but people we have heard of, making it more interesting and making it easier to let our minds go where it needs to. Easier for God to speak, at least for me. Many people talk about not havng time to read, then stick this in and listen. Yes, it was hard to figure out how to listen to it with the format. That is the one thing i didn’t like with it. I was able to listen only on the computer and dvd player. The speakers do pretty well with the narration and the sounds just enhance the experience. My aunt had stuck this in for my younger cousins to listen to. They really loved it, still ask for it. It keeps them interested as you go off and clean or do homework etc. Bottom line, this is a great item to own in a home. It will help you get into the life of biblical characters, at least it did me, and will help you study the word. Thanks for this to all of them who made it.
